PedEgg

The original mess-free foot file · on TV shelves since 2007

Smooth start with your foot file

Getting started with your PedEgg takes very little preparation. The file is built to remove dry, dead skin from heels without scattering mess across the floor. Here is how to handle the file, empty the cup, and keep the blade working properly at the bathroom sink.

Emptying the collection cup

Separate the two halves of the shell over a waste bin once you finish filing. The blade section lifts away from the base cup, which holds all the dry skin shavings collected during your session. Tap the plastic base gently against the rim of the bin to dislodge any remaining powder. You can rinse the empty plastic cup under a cold tap if needed, but make sure it is completely dry before snapping the tool back together. Never leave shavings inside the shell between uses.

Keeping the file dry between uses

Water ruins the filing action. Always work on completely dry feet, without soaking or applying lotions beforehand. Wet skin clogs the tiny cutting edges and prevents the blade from shaving off dead skin cleanly. After rinsing any parts at the sink, shake off the water and let every piece air dry fully on a towel. Storing a damp egg inside a closed cabinet can degrade the metal surface and make future sessions far less effective.

Using the finishing emery pads

Listings that include adhesive emery pads give you an extra step after the main filing is done. Peel the backing from a pad and press it firmly onto the flat bottom of the shell base. Rub the pad across your heel in light strokes to smooth out any rough patches left behind by the blade. This buffing step works strictly on dry skin as well. When the emery grit wears flat, peel the pad off, discard it in the bin, and apply a fresh one.

Recognising a dull blade

A blade eventually loses its edge with regular use on rough heels. You will know it is time for a replacement when you need significantly more passes over the same spot to produce a small amount of skin powder. Pressing harder into your heel will not compensate for a dull surface and can cause discomfort. Because the metal filing plate is built into the top shell, the remedy is simply to replace the file through one of our retail partners.
